How to install roller blinds
Roller blinds are made from a single piece, which makes them very easy to install. Here we explain how easy it is to measure and then install a roller blind.
Steps to follow to install the blind
Here we give you the steps to follow to place a roller blind in your home.
STEP 1: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PLACE IT?
To start with, we need to have the following tools at hand: a tape measure, a drill, a hammer, dowels, screws, lag screws and a pencil.
STEP 2: MEASUREMENTS
We take the tape measure and measure the width of the window. Once the width has been measured we add 10 centimetres on each side.
Now, let's go with the height! we add 15 centimetres from the top frame of the window and then measure (downwards) as far as you want the blind to go.
STEP 3: POSITIONING THE BRACKETS
At this point it is time to place the supports!
First of all, taking into account the size of the blind, we centre it in relation to the window in order to calculate where the brackets that support it should be placed.
The first bracket we are going to place is the one with the flange that will go on the chain side and then the other one that will go on the other side.
Once this is done, we proceed to:
- MarkingMark with a pencil the holes for the screws that hold the brackets.
- Making the holesOnce we have marked the points where the holes will go, we take a drill and make the holes.
- Fixing the brackets to the wallWhen we have the holes we take the dowels and with a hammer we fix them in the place of the holes. Then we take the brackets and screw them with the help of a drill where the holes are.
STEP 4: INSERTING THE BLIND
In this last step, all we have to do is take the blind and insert it into the brackets and that's it!
It should be noted that the roller blind can be installed on a window with or without a blind box.
What to do if you need to place two roller blinds together?
This type of situation can occur because the blind needs to cover a large area, so that two blinds need to be fitted instead of just one.
When this situation arises from the beginning, we must leave a space between the two blinds in order to fit an accessory called a central support. The central support allows two made-to-measure blinds to be perfectly assembled.
How to save the roller shutter drawer?
When you need to overcome an obstacle in the place where you install your roller blind, such as in the case of the roller blind drawer, you will need to place some extension brackets.
These brackets make it easier for you to separate the drop of the blind fabric and its collection. For those of you who want to install venetian blinds, they are also very useful!
How do I fit the blind to corner windows?
When this happens, it is best to install each roller blind in the following way by matching it precisely at the apex of the corner and always with the fabric falling in front of the axis.
How to fit blinds without making holes?
If you have tilt-and-turn windows, the roller blinds will be installed on the window sash itself with special brackets. Within this type of brackets, there is a special model: the "easy fix with cable guidance. They are very useful in places where it is necessary a greater dynamic in the collection of roller blinds.
Now with all this explained you have no excuse for not installing the blind anywhere in your home!
