Neutral cross-linked silicone rubber based sealant.

Properties

Easy to apply one-component sealant, crosslinkable at room temperature. Its low modulus ensures minimal stress on the joint during the shrinkage and expansion process. Excellent adhesion, very versatile. Unalterable to water, sun and weathering in general. Does not shrink or crack.

Applications

  • Sealing of doors and windows (anodised aluminium, lacquered aluminium, PVC and wood). Sealing of glazing, sealing of carpentry to the building site and carpentry to each other, in RAL colours and others.
  • Sealing of PVC elements.
  • For sealing joints in construction (expansion, static, etc.).
  • deformable and watertight connection between very different materials with different coefficients of expansion.

Approvals

  • Certified with the N mark (AENOR) for joint and glazing sealants.
  • Classification: ISO 11600 F 25 LM, ISO 11600 G 25 LMwithout primer.
  • CE marking: EN 15651-1 F EXT-INT-CC / EN 15651-2 G-CC / EN 15651-3 S

Health and safety

During curing ORBASIL N-25 COLOR emits Ketoxime. These vapours should not be inhaled for a long time or in high concentrations. Therefore, the working area should be well ventilated.

Because of possible irritation, any contact of the fresh product with the eyes or mucous membranes should be avoided. In case of contact with eyes or mucous membranes, wash with plenty of water and, if necessary, seek medical advice. The rubber obtained during curing can be handled without risk.

The primers used with ORBASIL N-25 COLOR contain flammable solvents at room temperature. Do not smoke or use an unprotected flame near the work area. In case of splashes in the eyes, they should be washed with plenty of water and, if necessary, a doctor should be consulted. Also, as a safety measure, it is important to wear gloves and, in case of stains, to wash with an industrial detergent when the product is still fresh.

It is good and very elastic

I don't know if the silicone was in good condition, it was too thick. I first used one I had from another brand, as I had some left over, and it was much easier to apply and clean up. Maybe that's just the way the product is. I'll have to see how it behaves over time and in inclement weather.
