How to make a blind: step by step

How to make a roller blind?
You need to get a fabric with sizing to give it stiffness (if it doesn't have it, iron it). Also get a roller blind mechanismthread, needle, scissors, tape measure (sewing tape) and a pencil.
Step by step how to make a roller blind
Firstly, measure the window and add 10 cm on each side, top and bottom..
Then measure the fabric and add 20 cm on all four sides to make the seams.
Next, hilvana the fabric making 2 cm folds at the sides and 4 cm folds at the top and bottom.
Sew the fabric. If you machine sew, use a straight stitch. If you do it by hand, use backstitch or backstitch. Prick the fabric and pull it out again at about 3 mm. Go back to the starting stitch and pull the needle out 3 mm further. Continue in a straight line and on the reverse side create a continuous line.
Sew the Velcro which brings the mechanism in the upper part of the fabric. In the lower part, put the slat of the system, which will provide the weight to lower it.

How to make a folding blind?

Measure the window and cut the fabric as mentioned above. Then, make the hems with pins and baste.
Next, take measurements to sew the blind cords. The rods must be the same distance apart. Again, baste and stitch. Leave an extra 10 cm of tape.
Hem the top and sew the soft velcro area, as well as the rest of the hems. Also sew the rings where the strings go. Insert the counterweight and the rods. Install the mechanism and stick the blind with the Velcro.
Finally, thread the ribbons through the rings and tie them off!
How to make a panel blind?
To make a packet blind, purchase a folding mechanism. And get scissors, thread, needle, pins, ruler and rings.
Step by step how to make a packet blind
Measure the window and iron the fabric. Cut it, leaving about 20 cm on each side. Next, make the seams and hem to insert the counterweight. When basting, leave 2 cm on each side and 4 cm at the top and bottom.
Take measurements and sew on the rings (evenly spaced) on the back of the blind. Make a simple hem at the top and sew the soft part of the velcro, as in the previous section. And sew the other hems.
Insert the counterweight and the roller blind mechanism.. Go through and tie the ropes, and that's it!
Best fabrics for blinds
For a blind without rods, we recommend sheers. For a sheer blind, linen. However, whatever fabric you choose, check that it is difficult to crease, does not shrink when washed and has a good drape.
