What to consider when buying smart blinds?

When shopping for a smart blind, keep the following in mind.

  • The visibility and UV protection is calculated with the degree of opennesswhich is the percentage of a fabric's entire surface area occupied by holes or pores that light passes through (i.e. the density). Thus, an opaque fabric will have a degree of openness 0% and a screen blind with 10% offers a high level of visibility as it is the most translucent. However, the passage of light and heat is influenced by the opening, the thickness and the colour of the fabric that makes up the blind.
  • Types of blinds. The most common are roller blinds, packet blinds and folding blinds.
  • Control. As mentioned above, a motorised blind can be operated using a remote control, a mobile app and voice commands if it is compatible with ecosystems such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri.
  • Battery and autonomy. Automatic blinds are powered by a battery that must be charged from time to time. Consider the autonomy of each model so that they are not continually recharged.
  • What size blind do you need. If you have room on both sides, add 10 cm to the width of the window. If you only have room on one side, just add 10 cm.

Conclusion

Now you know what the smart blinds and how they can make your life easier at home. They are undoubtedly key to getting good quality sleep on a daily basis.
